They Do! Inside the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle!

He kissed the bride! The royal couple as they exit with the family at Saint George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle.
Hear ye, hear ye! A royal wedding has commenced!
At 8:00 AM, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were pronounced by the Archbishop of Canterbury as husband and wife.
Coverage all throughout the morning detailed all the guests’ grand entrances, including David and Victoria Beckham, George and Amal Clooney, Serena Williams, Joss Stone, James Blunt, Princesses Eugenia and Beatrice, Sir Elton John, and Oprah.

You get an invite, you get an invite, everyone gets an invite! Oprah was one of the high-profile American guests to get an invite to the decade’s biggest nuptials (photo courtesy of theguardian.com).

The best man was none other than Harry’s older brother, Prince William. Doria Ragland, Meghan’s mom, could not look prouder of her daughter on her big day, shedding some tears in the car as they left the Clifton Hotel in London. Miss Markle was walked down the aisle by Prince Charles, William and Harry’s father. This was brought to light amidst news that Markle’s father would not attend due to recovery from heart surgery.

Meghan’s entrance into Saint George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle was a royal affair perfectly fitting for a princess (well, technically duchess, but you get the gist). She donned a simple white custom-made Givenchy gown with a tulle veil representing all 52 nations under the Commonwealth, the economic and pseudo-political umbrella that connects former British colonies and Great Britain. A subtle touch to such an extravagant dress!

The ceremony was what some called unconventional, but I am happy to say it was modern, diverse, and truly unique. This is most likely going to be the last royal wedding in a very long time, given that there are no royals in our generation who exceed Harry and William’s exposure levels. Revered Michael Curry, the first African-American president to be elected as the presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church, gave an enlightening and vigorous sermon which brought to light love of others, family, and self, as well as togetherness via antecodes inspired by Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The Kingdom Choir performed the classic “Stand by Me” and the Royal Children’s Choir performed right before the vows.

Overall, today marks a new era in modern royal history. An American biracial actress and divorceé was made the Duchess of Sussex, which is unprecedented and truly remarkable. It goes to show that the world’s most iconic monarchy is keeping up with the times when it comes to its heirs expanding their broods. On top of this, Meghan is going into the marriage abiding by royal protocols in terms of social media, her style of dress, and her way of life. This may seem like a huge sacrifice (which it IS); but if you loved someone so much im that kind of way, would you do the same? I mean, if I was marrying a Prince, then yes I totally would!

Lastly, Princess Diana (Harry’s late mother) is looking down proudly at this day for her youngest. I am sure she is thrilled that her baby boy has found love and happiness with Meghan. There’s no doubt that Harry went through some hard times (as seen throughout the years via various tabloids regarding his hard partying). Now this is a full circle moment for the Prince of Wales; he has experienced A LOT during his life thus far and this new chapter marks a new beginning for him and the royal family.
Can we just take a moment... (photo courtesy of harpersbaazar.com)
