DIY Breakfast Taco Recipe!

For years, I’ve been playing around with different recipes, especially for Mexican food, my favorite cuisine. This taco recipe is simple, easy, and tasty!

Ingredients:
-two soft corn tortillas
-chicken tenders, diced
-diced Kosher dill pickles
-diced white onions
-Mexican cheese blend
-guacamole (mild or spicy)
-Louisiana hot sauce
-kale
-2 large eggs
1. Spread some cheese on soft tacos along with diced onions
2. Place in microwave on medium power (5 or 6) for 2 minutes
3. Put a dollop of vegetable oil (or olive oil) into a pan at medium heat
4. Beat 2 eggs in a separate cup with kale and pour into the pan
5. Whip eggs while in pan to make them scrambled.
6. Add cheese into scrambled eggs in pan
7. Add scrambled eggs onto soft tacos along with diced pickles, a scoop of guacamole, and a dash of hot sauce!
8. Enjoy your tacos!

Break out your shakers and your blenders!

This is a day when everyone appreciates this great cocktail even more!
For those who love the frozen classic or like it on the rocks, you will need:
1.5 oz white tequila (taste is a lot better for beginners; also called “blanco”)
2 oz lime juice (tastes a LOT better than margarita mix, less sugar and calories)
1 oz triple sec (to offset the tequila taste)
0.5 oz simple syrup (to add some sweetness)
Margarita salt
Fresh limes
ON THE ROCKS:

-dip the rim of your glass into some lime juice and dip glass into salt for rim
-on ice, more tequila, lime juice, triple sec, and simple syrup into a shaker
-shake for 5 seconds, pour, garnish with a lime wedge, and olé - you have a margarita!
FROZEN:

*For multiple portions, triple your portions on each ingredient
-dip the rim of your glass into some lime juice and dip glass into salt for rim
-with the blender half filled with ice, pour ingredients into blender
-place at a medium blend level for 10 seconds
-Pour blended mix, garnish with a lime wedge, and olé - you have a margarita!

Enjoy your margaritas any way you like! To add some flav to your drink, some guacamole and nachos will add just that extra kick!

Rachel McAdams Is Expecting Her First Child!

Reports are flying that Rachel McAdams is pregnant with her first child with screenwriter beau James Linden.
The Mean Girls actress was spotted in Toronto donning an oversized coat and several scarves. She has kept a low profile in recent months and did not attend last night’s Hollywood premiere of her upcoming comedy Game Night. 
This is great news for McAdams, as she always want children. In a 2009 Marie Claire interview, she stated that her mother was the inspiration to start her own family through her nurturing parenting and determination to do anything for her and her siblings.

Wendy Williams to take three weeks hiatus for Graves’ Disease treatment

Yesterday morning, FOX talk show host and radio personality Wendy Williams announced that she is taking three weeks hiatus for treatment of Graves’ Disease linked to an overactive thyroid.
Williams explained her struggles on her daily talk show yesterday morning. She says her newly-diagnosed condition is the reason her “eyeballs pop out”. The disease causes the back of the eyes to stick out, formerly known as exophthalmos. Double vision and vision loss are common symptoms linked to the disease that primarily affects women over 40. It also causes weight loss resulting from an overactive thyroid.

Upon her diagnosis, Williams’ doctors altered her medication regiment and three weeks to recuperate and get her back to health. Being her hilarious self, she said she would take off two weeks to see her co-hosts, her studio audience and do what she does best!

Toni Braxton and Birdman ENGAGED!

Rapper Birdman and singer Toni Braxton confirmed their engagement yesterday afternoon.

After months of speculation, both partners opened up about their relationship. Birdman (birth name Bryan Williams) talked to Wendy Williams yesterday morning gushing about his “girl, [his] life, [his] earth”. Williams made remarks in the recent past about her thoughts on the relationship being a “quickie” romance. She also did not think Toni’s sophisiticated image was appropriate to link up with the “We Fly High” rapper.

Toni confirmed the news in a sneak peak of her reality show Braxton Family Values. Her mother, Evelyn, along with her four sisters, were reportedly overjoyed by the news.

Omarosa Talks the White House and Piers Morgan!

The Apprentice star Omarosa Manigault-Newman is in the Celebrity Big Brother House and boy, is she talking!

In the new season of the hit CBS show, she spoke to her fellow housemate E! correspondent Ross Matthews about daunting behind-the-scenes details of the Trump administration. She says that she was "haunted" by his Tweets and "tried to be that [voice of reason]" while others in the White House barred her from speaking up. In the same conversation, she assured him that "it's not going to be OK", leaving him fearful about the next three years.

In addition to the POTUS' terrifying Tweets, Omarosa commented that VP Mike Pence "is worse than Trump", stating that he believes that Jesus tells him what to say. This left the rest of the Big Brother house floored and flabbergasted about the inner sanctum of the current administration. 

In the February 16th episode, reality star Brandi Glanville of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills flat-out asked if Omarosa ever slept with the President. She said straight-up no and "that's horrible", disgusted at the notion.

According to sources, many claim that the former White House correspondent is talking for a ratings boost; but it comes with the territory of  the self-proclaimed "ratings gold" queen as per her grand entrance into the house.

In the midst of her speaking out, Piers Morgan spoke out that she simply uses such opportunities to indeed increase ratings as well as her own fame. In a recent interview with British tabloid Daily Mail's Tucker Carlson, he called her "one of the worst human beings" he has ever met. While appearing on the Celebrity Apprentice together in 2007, he said Lady O propositioned the two to have a "showmance" to boost the ratings. When he said no, she spread a rumor that he was gay. The rumor is not true, as the British journalist is wed to Celia Walden.

In last night's episode, Omarosa was the Head of the Household (HOH), worrying everyone else in the house - as they should be! This is good news for O, as she just received treatment for an asthma attack Saturday evening.

The episode was not without its fair share of gossip. She brought up working for Hillary Clinton's "Ready for Hillary" campaign, dubbing her as "an interesting woman" who would have been "an exceptional President". While working on the project last election cycle, the L.A. Times quoted her on the significance of the debut of the first female President. Manigault-Newman went on to comment that it was all a "scam" that left her and a lot of those involved with the project sour and "used and abused", making it easy for her to hop on board with the Trump's "Make America Great Again" campaign. And the rest as the say is history!

At the end of the episode, she nominated Matthews and Glanville for eviction. This is no coincidence, as the new HOH confided in them on all the Oval Office dirty dish!

He even sent out a challenge to his fans (myself included) to spread positive vibes and kindness to mankind this weekend. From the looks of it, we need that every now and again (or every day)!

Sundays: the Best and Worst Day of the Week

The week has finally begun again, yet it feels as though it’s ending. You want to relax all day and watch the game, yet you have so much work to catch up on before work/school the next day. You’re full from your mom’s gourmet Sunday dinner, but your checklist of things to do this week are more empty. 

If you grew up religious like myself, the routine was you wake up for Sunday morning mass, go to a crowded breakfast establishment, and rest for a couple hours and procrastinate as much as possible on your assignments due Monday. In the days of undergrad, it meant hanging out with your friends, attending various extracurricular events, and making sure your assignments for the week were on the right track. 

This still relates to me in grad school; with my new work/school schedule, there’s slightly more flexibility to get my work done and make money.  It’s the day during which I can *somewhat* adult and go grocery shopping, clean my apartment, and my car. It’s also a day when I get go out with friends and family for brunch and indulge on bottomless mimosas (hey, gotta survive those manic Monday’s right?!). 

There’s fire under my behind in terms of getting tasks accomplished. It’s a time to appreciate having “a little me time”, which even as a people person, I need a little bit of. And once my tasks for the day are done, I feel all the more like I can take on the week. 

So this Sunday, be sure to take the time for some prayer (if you’re into that kind of thing), spend time with friends and family, or something that you feel will make your Monday a little better. Accomplishing your tasks will help you avoid those Sunday scaries! 

5 Shows to Binge-Watch this Three-Day Weekend

Three-day weekends, winter break, spring break - well anytime you have spare time - are all the best times to watch some kick back, relax and watch some TV. Nothing like “Netflix and chill” right? I’ve seen plenty of shows and I’ve even watched some of them twice! 

So here’s a list of some shows that I highly recommend: 

1. It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (FXX, Netflix)

The hit FX series is one of the funniest shows I’ve seen in a long time. With tongue-in-cheek quips and the outrageous misadventures of the ensemble cast that includes Danny DeVito and Charlie Day will make you quote them ‘til kingdom come. If you if live in Philly, it’s a right of passage and a more of a must than seeing the Liberty Bell! 

2. Stranger Things (Netflix Original series)

This Netflix original starring Winona Ryder is a gripping Sci-Fi thriller that you won’t get enough of. Heck, they even made an after show special Beyond Stranger Things! And it has all the classic and relatable elements of a great storyline: romance, moral conflict, and loyalty. 

3. Shameless (Showtime, Netflix)

A fan favorite, the ensemble cast of the hit Showtime series brings incredible performances first then incredible execution of their respective storylines. It covers issues from sexuality to mental illness, and does it with the upmost realism from the South Side of Chicago. From the getgo, you think that each plot line gets more messed up - until it gets more messed up! 

4. Weeds (Showtime, Netflix)

This one is a guilty pleasure of mine. Mary-Louise Parker stars as Californian suburban widow Nancy Botwin who resorts to dealing marijuana to maintain her upper-middle class lifestyle. The series chronicles her family woes, her love life, and the trials of being in the drug business. The comic relief from Kevin Nealon’s character Doug and Elizabeth Perkins as Nancy’s frenemy Celia provide a well-rounded show that you’ll want to rewatch twice!

5. Friends From College (Netflix Original series)

Set in New York City, the new series follows the lives of six college friends from Harvard. Keegan-Michael Key (from Key & Peele) stars alongside Cobie Smulders and Fred Savage in a dramedy that will make you want to go back to your glory days of undergrad. And now that I’m in grad school, I totally would!

Jennifer Aniston and husband Justin Theroux announce their split, and the world is reeling

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux just announced their split after less than two years of marriage. The breakup was amicable and the two have addressed their current relationship status as “best friends” who will always love each other. 

This doesn’t come as a shock to me in all honestly. The Friends star and her husband have not been seen out in public for months. They have not addressed each other in interviews in almost a year. Not that that is a sign, but it still is something that rescinents with the public. 

Perhaps the most distinctive reason for their split is their very different backgrounds. Theroux is originally from D.C. and was raised in New England, settling in New York for several years with stylist Heidi Bivens. Aniston is a California Girl who blossomed into “America’s Sweetheart” with her breakout role as Rachel Green on the hit sitcom Friends. Previously married to Brad Pitt and romantically linked to stars such as Vince Vaughn and John Mayer. When the duo met while filming Wanderlust, he was not used to the spotlight she was accustomed to for years. 

The two are reportedly going about their divorce proceedings tactically as well. According to E! News, the couple protected their assets before their union with an “ironclad” prenup. Jen’s fortune accumulated to $220 million while Justin’s net worth is $20 million. Thankfully, the highest paid actress in Hollywood knows what she’s doing!  

Meanwhile, sources claim that Aniston is reaching out to her ex-husband Brad Pitt. Even if this is true, she shouldn’t get back with him. Their relationship has been over since a certain pout **allegedly** came between them, and the same speculation occurred when he split with her. 

Being a Singleton on Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day or - as myself and my fellow singletons call this hallmark holiday - Happy Single's Awareness Day (S.A.D.)!

February 14th has become either the most romantic of holidays or the most dreaded day, especially for those without a significant other. But it hasn't always been like this. In grade school, we all made Valentine's cards and gave out candy to all the kids in our class. In middle school and high school, it was all about cute teddy bears and chocolates from Godiva (not that I would know). Come college, it's about thinking outside the box and doing something creative. An "adult" Valentine's celebration is imagined as a fancy dinner date on the town to a restaurant that fills up before the end of January.  

For those who have not spent a Valentine's Day with a significant other, it can sometimes be frustrating to think that you don't have one while many of your friends do. You think Why don't I have a boyfriend/girlfriend and Why can't I seem to get into a relationship and when I do, there's always some sort of catch?

But you mustn't think this way fellow singletons. As much as you would want to indulge in dark chocolate truffles and a bottle of red wine, do it for you; do it for the fact that you are single and proud. Do it for you feeling independent and strong. Just because you don't have a BAE doesn't mean you cry all day. 

A personal Valentine's tradition of mine is to celebrate the love of my friends and family. My forever Valentine will always be my mom; she has been my number one fan since day one (literally). I thank her each and every day that I have a mom as caring and thoughtful as she is - even when she is overprotective. So shout out to all the Valentine's out there, whether it's your S.O. or your best friend!

For Kylie Jenner and Travi$ Scott, it’s a girl!

Congratulations to Kylie and Travis on their first child together!

The couple welcomed their daughter, Stormi Webster, into the world on Thursday, February 1st at 4:43 PM in Los Angeles. The reality TV star and cosmetics mogul broke her silence about the pregnancy rumors and apologized to fans via Instagram for keeping them “in the dark”. She also posted an eleven-minute video on her YouTube channel chronicling her pregnancy and how she and her friends prepared for the “most beautiful...and life changing time of her life”.

The news comes hours after he is found guilty of disorderly conduct in Arkansas after one of his concerts. The "Butterfly Effect" rapper, whose birth name is Jacques Webster, is required to pay a fine of up to $6000 in injury compensation during the event. Thankfully, he does not have to face jail time and will enjoy his first moments as a father.

Eagles Win the Super Bowl!

In a 41-33 victory, the Eagles win their first Super Bowl! Congrats to Nick Foles on his first Super Bowl win and the rest of the team - job well done!

The city celebrated the victory all throughout! Broad Street was packed with thousands of viewers partying it up until all hours of the morning outside City Hall and the Ritz Carlton, whose sign collapsed! Fireworks and cheers filled the City of Brotherly Love with nothing but love Sunday evening. And I rest assure you, it will continue all throughout out the week.

As for the parade, it will take place on Thursday morning at 11 AM starting at Broad and Pattison! SEPTA began preparations this morning with a breaking news segment regarding limited trolley and subway activity as well as precautions for overcrowding. To all those in attendance (fingers crossed I will be able to go), have fun and congratulations Birds!!

Super Bowl Sunday is here! Top 5 Predictions For SB LII

Happy Game Day and Super Bowl LII! Patriots and Eagles fans alike are anxiously awaiting a game that will determine one of two opposite results: either Brady's last Super Bowl will go out with a bang or Nick Foles will lead the Birds to their first Super Bowl win. But no matter how the game ends, fans across the country will be talking about this game for years to come. 

In the midst of the 52nd Super Bowl, here are five predictions that have the streets (and the bleachers) talking: 

1. The Eagles will finally win

After two previous Super Bowl appearances, this could be the year the the Birds take the gold home! With a new quarterback following Carson Wentz's injury, Nick Foles has stepped in to replace him, proving to be more than adequate (if going to the Super Bowl doesn't prove so, I don't know what does)! His second stint with the Eagles could deem successful with tonight's impending win; and the streets of Philadelphia will be welcoming him and the team with open arms and plenty of fanfare. 

2. This Super Bowl could be Brady's last

For the past season, there has been speculation in regards to Tom Brady's retirement. Reports flew that Brady, along with his coach Bill Belichick's careers in football ending, could indeed be "hanging it up", according to ESPN anchor Dianna Russini. However, Brady's contract runs through the 2019 season, which he intends to work through; Belichick will most likely be with the Pats QB for the remainder of his career, given their 5 wins together. 

3. Justin Timberlake will bring out...Britney Spears?!

We heard rumors of an *NSYNC reunion or a sequel performance with Janet Jackson for this year's halftime show. But another rumor going around is the "Mirrors" crooner hittin' it one more time with former girlfriend Britney Spears! That would be quite the show and the dream of every '90s kid (myself included). But Spears has expressed neither interest nor a clue leading up to the show. 

4. P!nk will perform the National Anthem, flu or no flu

Throughout the week, P!nk along with the other Super Bowl performers has been practicing around the clock to perfect their live acts. The "What About Us" singer reportedly came down with the flu and will be performing away her illness. Since she is known for her raspy and edgy vocal style, she will kick off the game with a bang!

5. The victory parade in Philadelphia will be insane

Following the impending victory of the Eagles, Philadelphia will be closing down Broad Street for the victory parade this Tuesday. The time is still pending, but it will indeed be a day that Philly will never forget. And given that it just may be their first Super Bowl win, we wouldn't expect anything less! 

'Spice Up Your Life'! The Spice Girls' First Group Photo in Years Leaves Fans in Frenzy

Victoria Beckham posted on her Instagram a picture with her fellow Spice Girls, confirming the news of a reunion!

Viva la Spice! The Spice Girls reunited for a group photo for the first time since 2012, when they performed for the closing ceremony at the Olympic Games in London. The iconic girl group met at the home of Geri Halliwell Horner ("Ginger Spice") to discuss their plans moving forward with their former manager powerhouse Simon Fuller. Victoria Beckham ("Posh Spice") confirmed the news on her Instagram page with the caption "Love my girls!!! So many kisses!!! X Exciting c #friendshipneverends #girlpower". Ginger Spice also posted a photo with her former band-mates with the caption "Lovely seeing the girls #girlpower is alive and well 💗".

But don't expect the "Wannabe" quintet to be performing or recording in the studio anytime soon. Last year Victoria Beckham ("Posh Spice") stated in an interview on a British morning talk show that a reunion tour "is not happening. At some point you've gotta know when it's time to say, 'That was great'". Additionally, the girls have family obligations and young children that will keep them from doing a full-blown world tour.

British magazine The Sun reports that the reunion may include an X-Factor-esque television talent show, a special edition compilation album celebrating their biggest hits, and endorsement deals. I mean, being a '90s kid, I wouldn't mind all of the above. And if they do a television show, it should be titled "'Wannabe' a Singer"!

Justin Timberlake’s Super Bowl Performance Tease

Just days before the Super Bowl, headlining halftime performer Justin Timberlake announced at a pre-game press conference that his performance will be “unlike anything done before”.

Will it mean that *NSYNC will make an appearance after all?! This may not come to fruition after former band mate Joey Fatone stated that he has not been in rehearsal for the show with anyone else in the band, thus saying “Bye Bye Bye” to the rumor. 

Amidst JT’s statement, many are still speculating that Janet Jackson will make a surprise guest appearance. Jackson has not commented on this rumor, but knowing the 2004 fallout with NFL and FOX Sports following the infamous breast exposing incident, this rumor also seems pretty far fetched. Although it would be funny if Janet gave it to JT good! LOL, JK. Or am I?

In other news, Justin’s new album “Man of the Woods” is out tomorrow. Check it out, all new JT with an all new sound and vibe! 

Kylie Jenner Pregnancy Rumors Persist: New KUWTK Episodes Reveal All!

Since Kylie Jenner was spotted early this past fall sporting an alleged baby bump, she has been MIA from virtually all her social media platforms and family photos, sending fans into a tailspin.
In September, she and some girlfriends went out on the town in Vegas to see her boyfriend-turned-alleged-baby-daddy rapper Travi$ Scott at the iHeart Radio Music Festival in a baggy T-shirt. Just a few days later, she was pictured running errands in LA wearing a similar getup. Adding to speculation is the Lip Kit mogul's absence from the KarJenner Christmas card and a lack of recent below-the-waist photos, particularly during mom Kris’s Christmas party.
Since her last public appearance, conspiracies have been flying in regards to her alleged pregnancy. This doesn't seem to far fetched as the couple split last April and reportedly still love each other. Following pregnancy reports, he responded with "Hell nah thats my kid" via his Snapchat account.

Then there's the ongoing rumor that the youngest Jenner is her older half-sister Kim's gestational carrier. The fact that the sisters were not only expecting baby girls but were also expecting around the same time made many theorize about this allegation. Kim’s daughter Chicago (with rapper hubby Kanye West) was born in the wee hours of January 15th, while sources claim that Kylie is due to give birth early this month. The whole KarJenner clan was in attendance for the birth of the third and youngest Kimye offspring. Not such a coincidence amirite?!

The following week, Ky was photographed with BFF Jordyn and mama Kris in a construction lot last week allegedly checking out her new mansion for herself and her soon-to-be-born daughter. When she struggled to enter the vehicle, fans speculated that she was due at any day.

Let's not forget the ongoing reports that the cosmetics entrepreneur is no longer with Travis. This may not be necessarily true given that he is wrapping up his Birdz Eye View Tour in March, thus unable to see Kylie every day. Besides, someone's gotta help pay the (alleged) baby’s bills!

Now fans and followers are freaking out (myself included) about the upcoming episodes of Keeping Up with the Kardashians. In its fourteenth season, there have been two pregnancy reveals: one from Khloé (with Cavalier player boyfriend Tristan Thompson) and Kim expecting her third child with Kanye via gestational carrier. But Kylie has not appeared on the show as frequently as in the past due to people in Kylie’s camp "trying to exploit a certain situation" according to mama Kris.

That “certain situation” just might be revealed in episodes 19 and 20 titled "We're Expecting" and "It's a Girl", respectively, in the 22-episode season. A Wikipedia leak claims that the couple may be announcing their expected arrival soon and how they plan for the future together. But since it's Wikipedia, there's still some speculation over the situation.

Episodes 19 ("We're Expecting") and 20 ("It's a Girl!") will be when Kylie reveals her pregnancy with beau Travi$ Scott.
